Nowadays with the majority of UK workers using some form of technology in the workplace it is inevitable that some will look to utilise the opportunities of the World Wide Web to make a bit of extra cash. We have complied some ideas but there are plenty more ways to use the internet for making money.

Here are several ways to earn money online:

Sharing Knowledge: If you’re an expert on a subject, you can monetize your knowledge by creating courses online. You can sell your course on platforms like Udemy or, if you already have your own audience, on your own website.

Online Surveys: Completing online paid surveys is a popular and super-easy way to make money online. Good surveys sites in the UK are Prime Opinion and Branded Surveys. You could expect to earn up to £200 in extra money a month into your bank or PayPal account.

Paid for Searching the Web: Some companies, such as Qmee.com, pay you for what you do already – search online. All you have to do is sign up to Qmee, install their spam-free browser extension, and you are all set.

Blogging: A blog is a great money-making idea that can be a serious way to earn money in your spare time.

Freelancing: If you have a specific skill set, you can offer your services on freelancing platforms.

Affiliate Marketing: You can earn a commission by promoting other people’s (or company’s) products. You find a product you like, promote it to others, and earn a piece of the profit for each sale that you make. Popular affiliate marketing sites include Rakuten/LinkShare and Commission Junction.

Remember, while some of these sites only pay small amounts, add them all together and you could be looking at an annual bonanza of £1,000s3. However, it’s important to understand it’s not quick cash. But it is nice extra income, provided you’re consistent and have a little patience.  These are just a few ideas to earn money online but if you know of any others get in touch with Money Moo in the comments section below.
