Being a student is hard and having no money or a lack of money can severely hinder your mental health and impact studying so having a little income to rely on always helps.

As a student in the UK, there are several ways to earn money. Here are some of them:

Sell your old stuff: You can sell items you no longer need online on sites such as eBay and Vinted

Work part-time at a local shop or restaurant: This is a traditional way of earning money and you might also get tips.

Do odd jobs for people in your area: This could include anything from cleaning to gardening.

Freelance: If you have a skill like writing, graphic design, or programming, you can offer your services on freelance platforms.
Offer pet-sitting services: If you love animals, pet-sitting can be a great way to earn money.

Do gardening for people in your community: If you have a green thumb, this could be a good option and you can grow your own vegetables at the same time as well as adding voluntary experience to your CV.

Babysit or petsit for families in your area: Babysitting is a classic job for students and petsitting (if you love animals) is a great way to earn a bit of extra cash.

Become an online tutor: If you excel in a particular subject, you can offer tutoring services to other students. You can use online platforms such as MyTutor to tutor people in your free time.

Get cashback on your spending: There are several apps and websites that offer cashback on purchases such as Topcashback and Iceland which currently are giving £6 off a £45 shop for new customers if you click and sign up through this link.

Start a blog/vlog: If you have a passion for a particular topic, you could start a blog or vlog about it.

Take online surveys/take part in research: There are several websites that pay for taking online surveys.

Remember, if you’re studying in the UK on a visa, or are receiving funding for your course, be sure to check out the Term and Conditions of your work eligibility first.
